America The Red

How does America look? Pretty red. Outside of the cities of the Northeast, West Coast and the industrial Midwest and a few rural clusters, America is overwhelmingly pro-Bush. The graphic below (courtesy of USA Today) shows the county breakdown for Tuesday's elections. As you can see, the geographic divide is stark. For the most part, Democratic strongholds are in cities like LA, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, New York , Boston, etc. What does it all mean? Well, Dems have support in the old cities of the East and Northwest and the liberal cities of the West coast. And that's about it. Oh, I realize this is an oversimplification and that winning a county could mean you have one more supporter than the other party. But, it still shows some of the lines along which the country is politically divided.

(I found the graphic originally on Michelle Malkin's site)
